AND HERE I AM
By Hassan Abdulrazzak
Based on the life and performed by Ahmed Tobasi
Combining fact and fantasy, tragedy and comedy, And Here I Am is a powerful and poignant Palestinian coming-of-age story by award-winning writer Hassan Abdulrazzak.
Based on the life of actor Ahmed Tobasi, we follow his epic voyage from the alleyways of Jenin Refugee Camp to Israeli prison, from resistance fighter to artist, and from life as a refugee in Palestine to Norway and back again.
Spanning the first and second intifada, the play provides a deeply personal perspective on the impact of war, displacement, and the search for identity. As once again, the Israeli army invades Jenin Refugee Camp, And Here I Am is both a powerful tale from the past and an urgent story of the present.
GLOBAL TOUR
And Here I Am has been toured globally. Performances have included across Palestine, the UK, France, and Norway and at D-CAF Festival Cairo, HIFA Zimbabwe, Moment Festival Slovenia, Arts Festival UAE, World Culture Festival Karachi, and the Sharm El Sheikh monodrama festival, winning the award for best production.
